Oscar Mike Part 5. The End

After being shot down by some enemies in DC I flashed back to just before the battle as Task Force 141 went to find and attack a Russian nuclear sub. Captain Price changed the flight path of a nuclear missile and sent it into outer space above DC where it exploded, taking out the International Space Station in the process. The resulting EMP knocked out all of our equipment and left us in the dark as to what to do. Sgt Foley lead us to the White House, or Whiskey Hotel, and on the way there came the last Oscar Mike of the game.
As the squad crossed the street to the Eisenhower building we came across some Russian foot soldiers, after taking them out Foley said that we were Oscar mike, that’s one. We retook the White House and signaled the planes not to level the area.
Task Force 141 then split into two with Roach and Ghost attacking Makarov’s safe house and Soap and Price attacking a boneyard in Afghanistan where Makarov’s men were. Shepherd betrayed us and killed Roach and Ghost after they raided Makarov’s safe house. Soap and Price then escaped the boneyard and hunted down Shepherd, finally killing him and ending the game.
So our grand total of Oscar Mike’s for the game was 16, I was fairly surprised by that number, as I was expecting closer to 30. I think the fact that the usage of the term all seemed to come in spurts of several at a time, made the line more memorable and seem more over-used than it was. Still, 16 instances is quite a bit. Soap is the only non-ranger to use the term during the game and Sgt Foley and Corporal Dunn were the two main rangers who contributed to the effort. Overall, the experience was fun to play through the game again and it was funny to hear “Oscar Mike” several times in a short span. I hope you all enjoyed Oscar’s journey.
